The Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation enhances the care, comfort and dignity of elderly persons living in our community. We accomplish this by raising funds for equipment, environmental enhancement, community support, research and education.

The Foundation directly supports the residents of the Aberdeen, Mt. Tolmie, Glengarry, Priory, Heritage Woods and Oak Bay Lodge long-term care facilities and generally supports the care of elderly persons living in Greater Victoria. The Foundation also supports community programs for seniors such as the West Shore Adult Day Centre, the Mobile Adult Day Program, the Community Bathing Program and the Hillside Seniors Health Centre.

Our Foundation believes in the importance of supporting our aging population. We are working towards reaching further into the community to support senior serving agencies that promote and inspire positive aging and to raise awareness about the many resources and activities available to seniors, and their family caregivers, that help improve quality of life. Our "Embrace Aging" initiative, launched in 2006 to connect seniors and their families with community resources, has been reported to reach people beyond our Greater Victoria borders inspiring them to connect with the resources in their areas.
