Thanks to the generosity of Eldercare donors, the Community Bathing Program at the West Shore Adult Day Centre is bigger and better! The $45,000 renovation enlarged and reconfigured the space to make it much easier for clients and bath workers to utilize the space more efficiently and safely. The upgrade includes the addition of new safety flooring, fresh paint, a spa-like wall mural, storage space, and ambient lighting resulting in a more calming, safe and enjoyable experience. Additionally, specialized bathing equipment and accessories provided by the Eldercare Foundation contribute to overall functionality and comfort. February 1st 2018 marked the official grand opening of this new bathing room. Clients, family members, staff and volunteers were all on hand as the ribbon was cut by the bathing program’s longest attending client Lyn Jones while Eldercare President John Thomas and Island Health Director Leslie Barker cheered him on.
