Education and Resources

Currently, in partnership with BC Healthy Communities, we are working with 3 pilot communities in British Columbia to develop, test and evaluate ElderConnect.  This central community-based wellness navigation system will provide a listing of local, provincial, national and global services, supports and resources as well as face-to-face assistance and community engagement activities to help people find reliable resources with ease and confidence.

Embrace Aging Month

Each year, during the month of March, we promote and highlight events, activities and educational opportunities aimed to help people of all ages Be Well, Be Secure, Be Connected and Be Enriched – these are the 4 pillars of Embrace Aging.  Research indicates that by incorporating all 4 pillars, you will have a better quality of life as you age.  Be Well = physical and mental health; Be Secure = personal and financial security; Be Connected = social and community networks; Be Enriched = arts, culture, spirituality, education.  Check back here each February for the upcoming Embrace Aging Month calendar of events for Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.  Embrace Aging events are all free or nominal cost and provide an opportunity to try, learn or find something new!
