The communities of Greater Victoria and southern Vancouver Island are aging rapidly. Seniors aged 75+ are our region’s fastest growing demographic, and by 2030 Eldercare will be serving 4x as many seniors as when we were launched in 1982.
These seniors will need care and quality of life programs that are beyond what government health care can provide. To ensure local elderly can age with dignity, Eldercare is seeking the help of compassionate, community-minded individuals. More specifically, Eldercare is seeking 100 WILLing Leaders who – after caring for their family and friends – would be willing to create a gift in their wills to support seniors who still have years in their life, but need a little help to add life to their years.

Why WILLing Leaders?
The challenges that will arise as a result of Greater Victoria’s aging population will be both widespread and profound. The growing number of seniors will create increased pressure on limited long-term care beds and resources. This means that seniors living in long-term care will have increasingly complex needs to maintain their quality of life, and there will be more seniors needing support to live at home with conditions that today would qualify them for long-term care.
Through a bequest in your will, you can make a transformational gift that addresses the complex issues facing seniors in need without affecting your lifestyle, your own needs, or your ability to provide for your family. As local home prices continue to rise, and investment portfolios grow over time, even just a small percentage or share of your estate can translate into a very significant donation!
In appreciation of your bequest, Eldercare will also happily recognize your WILLing Leadership during your lifetime (if that is your wish) so that you and your family can join in understanding and celebrating the impact your future gift will make.
